Omah Lay began as a member of a rap group with the stage name Lil King. From there, he started writing songs and music producing which went largely uncredited, due to this, he released “Do Not Disturb” in 2019, April.
Following that, he released “Hello Brother”, a month after. Luckily, in the same year, he got signed into a record label named KeyQaad in June and he took a break. During the break, he took his time to work on his debut EP, Get Lays. The first song he recorded and released was “Bad Influence”, following the break.
Furthermore, in 2020, 14th of February, Omah released his first official single titled “You”. Subsequently, he released his five-track debut EP, Get Layd on the 22nd of May, 2020.
Successfully, Omah Lay’s EP peaked at number one on the Nigerian Apple Music Charts. With “You” peaking at number one, the other five songs from the EP reached the top 15.
Also, Omah Lay appeared on Olamide’s album, Carpe Diem, on the track “Infinity”. Later on the 20th of November, Omah Lay released his second five-track EP, “What Have We Done”. With “Godly” reaching number one, all five tracks reached the top 12 of the Apple Music Charts for Nigeria.
